The perfect program for people wanting the academic knowledge of a full decompression diver with just a little taste of the complex dives involved.

Learn what gas mixtures can quadruple your bottom time, how to plan gas consumption, and how to do short duration limited decompression diving all on a single tank with a pony bottle. Whether you plan to do limited decompression dives or just want the knowledge to respond if you overstay your limit this course has information you can really use to improve your diving knowledge and skill.

Take all 3 programs together and ease into the world of technical diving.  All you need is your Total Diving System…or rent one of ours….and learn the basic skills of technical diving with a taste of tri-mix.

What is Trimix?

Trimix is Oxygen, Helium, and Nitrogen blended together to help diminish the effects of narcosis on your dives. Imagine going on dives from 100ft to 200ft without the harsh issues of nitrogen narcosis.  We have a basic Limited Trimix Program that allows you a easy introduction to this type of diving without needing to add more to your total diving system.

Advanced Wreck - Scuba Schools of America Advanced Wreck

Statistics show that a significant percentage of diving accidents occur every year as a result of divers venturing just a little way into overhead environments. Learn the hazards and how to manage them in this limited penetration wreck diving course which can be completed in your recreational gear with just a few modifications and additions.

Advanced wreck dives are completed in the natural light zone, usually in the super structure or open hold areas of the wrecks and in relatively shallow water. This course is a prerequisite to the Technical Wreck Diving program

Cavern - Scuba Schools of America Cavern

Statistics show that a significant percentage of diving accidents occur every year as a result of divers venturing just a little way into overhead environments. Learn the hazards and how to manage them in this limited penetration cavern diving course which can be completed in your recreational gear with just a few modifications and additions.

Cavern dives are completed in the natural light zone within the entry zone of the cave. This course is a prerequisite to the Basic Cave course.

Cave Diving - Scuba Schools of America Intro to Cave

So you have been far enough into the cavern to recognize that it is not just a deep, dark hole in the ground and you definitely want to see more, but without twinsets and extreme dive plans . The Intro to Cave course is a transition program taught with a high capacity cylinder utilizing H or Y valves to allow divers to penetrate beyond the light zone.

The penetrations are limited to one third of a gas supply and the non-restricted areas of an underwater cave but they are beyond the natural light zone. Tech harnesses, twin regulator setups, and a technical style light sources are required for this program.

Extended Range - Scuba Schools of America Extended Range

The Extended Range course is the gateway to full on technical diving. This course will take divers beyond 40 meters, allow staged decompression, and introduce you to diving in a full technical diving system.

The Extended Range divers course can be completed as a stand alone program encompassing advanced nitrox or as a shorter, add on program for divers who have completed the Advanced Nitrox certification course. Extended Range is a prerequisite for any technical diving program in the SSI TXR Range.

You can take each of these courses individually or combine programs to make your training time more efficient.

You will develop confidence and comfort with these new skills through repetition and supervised experiences. Training will be designed to match your goals and objectives. SSI’s signature training methods the “SSI Diver Diamond “and “Comfort Through Repetition” have been to keep the programs consistent and provide the same high quality education as other SSI products.
