Rescue Diver Courses

The Rescue Diver Core Courses are designed to train you to be a true rescue diver. The problem with most rescue designed courses is they don’t train people with enough practical application. These core courses will cover all the topics listed plus you will do 12 related dives for all of the required applications.

First Aid For Divers

This is no typical first aid class! Typical classes of this nature cover just the basics. This class, taught by a medical professional from Pomona Valley Hospital, covers CPR, muscle bone and joint injuries, splinting, bleeding, burns, sudden illnesses, animal sting and bites, hypothermia, hyperthermia, minor and major barotraumtic injuries, DCI, aseptic bone necrosis, and other possible injuries. Not only how to treat these injuries, but more importantly how to prevent them.

ANDI O2 Administration

After years of using the DAN O2 Administration Program, Scuba Schools of America, is proud to debut the ANDI O2 Administration Program. The ANDI Program raises the bar when it comes to understanding the specifics of oxygen administration and standards. Spend time in the classroom and on in the open water practicing the techniques that it takes to save lives.

Stress Rescue Program

Finally, a scuba educational program that deals with the realities of diving! How can you depend on your buddy if you can’t take care of yourself. This course deals with the ideas of stress and how they affect the diver in and out of the water. Learn techniques of self reliance and self rescue. This course will teach you to be a better buddy and a better diver… period!

React Right
SSI React Right

Focused on practical applications for treating scuba-related illness and injury, React Right fills the gap for the vast numbers of SSI divers working toward their Master Diver certification, as well as keeping our family of Dive Professionals up to speed on the latest techniques and training in the field.

Accidents happen. We can’t always control the situation and sometimes when an accident happens emergency care is required until EMS arrives. Be prepared for these unexpected events with SSI’s REACT RIGHT training program.

Learn some skills that can make the difference for yourself or a dive buddy! Are you a boater, crew, parent, skier, hiker, mountain biker, etc., who would like to be better prepared to respond in an emergency?

If so, the SSI REACT RIGHT Course offered through SSA is for you. This course teaches you the skills that can mean the difference between life and death for a buddy, a friend or family member. The program is open to both divers and non-divers and it is one course that can give you an edge even when you’re not diving.

Both CPR and first aid training (Primary and Secondary Care) are combined in this one information and skill oriented program. You will learn (at a layman’s level), some of the same emergency techniques used by paramedics and doctors. In addition to the basic CPR and Secondary skills taught you will also be taught O2 administration and how to use an AED. This is a complete emergency response course for the diver and non-diver..

Successful participants will receive REACT RIGHT certification from SSI. Current REACT RIGHT certification, or equivalent, is a prerequisite for those divers wanting to enter both the Stress and Rescue Diver and Dive Guide, Divemaster or Dive Control Specialst programs. Course includes approximately 8 hours of instruction (may be held on week nights or weekends)
