Try Scuba – Your Free Intro Dive

Curious about the underwater world but not ready to commit to certification? Our Try Scuba session—sometimes called a discover scuba or intro dive—lets you slip on real gear, breathe underwater, and decide if full training is right for you. Two hours, zero cost, priceless grin.

What to Expect

Classroom Kick‑Off

• Meet your SSI‑certified dive pro. 

• Learn basic hand signals, equalizing, and how a regulator works. 

• See and touch the Total Dive System you’ll use in the pool.

Gear Up & Pool Time

• Head to our on‑site heated aquatic simulator.

• Get fitted for mask, fins, BCD, and tank.

• Kneel on the shallow platform, take your first breaths, then fin around the deep end under close supervision.

Debrief & Next Steps

• Log your first “dive,” snap a photo, and chat about Open Water certification discounts.

FAQ – Try Scuba Intro Dive

Is it really free?

Yes—no hidden fees. We provide pool time, gear, and instruction so you can test‑drive diving risk‑free.

How old do participants need to be?

Ages 10 + with basic swimming ability. Minors require a parent or guardian on site to sign paperwork.

Do I have to be an expert swimmer?

No. If you can comfortably tread water and float, you’re good. The entire session happens in a controlled pool with an instructor at arm’s length.

How deep will we go?

Our pool slopes to 12 ft (3.6 m). You’ll start in 3 ft, practice breathing, then explore the deep end if you feel comfortable.

What happens after Try Scuba?

Love it (you will)? Enroll in the SSI Open Water Diver course within 30 days and get a tuition credit plus a free mask‑snorkel set.
