Aboard the Pacific StarAn incredible weekend on our favorite Catalina live-aboard. Board Friday night at 9 p.m.; mandatory divemaster briefing at 10 p.m. (no exceptions—even if you’ve heard it a thousand times). The Pacific Star departs 22nd Street Sportfishing Landing, San Pedro. Waivers arrive by email the Wednesday before sailing—complete them early so you’re cleared to dive. Expect six to eight dives, hot meals, and bunk-style cabins. Air fills included; Nitrox available for $10 per fill. Remember to tip the crew—$20 makes their day and they’ll haul your gear both ways.

What certification level do I need?
Local Catalina charters suit Open Water divers. Liveaboards such as Socorro require Advanced certification and 50 logged dives. Each trip listing shows exact prerequisites.
What’s included in a typical dive-travel package?
Cabin or hotel room, tanks, weights, most meals, and guided dives. Airfare, rental gear, and crew tips are extra unless stated otherwise.
How many dives per day on a liveaboard?
Up to five: three daylight dives, a twilight splash, and a night dive—weather permitting.
Can non-divers join?
Yes. Snorkelers and sightseers often accompany our Fiji and Catalina trips. Reduced rates available.
